Call Forwarding
From Virtual-Phone-Number
Call Forwarding (or call diversion) is a special case of virtual phone numbers, when the calls are forwarded (or diverted) to another phone line. One of the main issues with call forwarding is keeping the original caller id (called ANI in the technical jargon). Many carriers loose the callerid in the process.
Some companies advertise that calls can be forwarded to a number of different numbers, and then picked up by voicemail if noone answers.
